Product Description
Proppant-pack permeability can be severely damaged by gelling agents such as guar or polymers. The amount of damage increases as polymer concentration increases. Breakers are generally used to reduce the viscosity of the fracturing fluids by degrading the polymer that is concentrated in the proppant pack.
JKN-GB-HT is an encapsulated version of a peroxide breaker, it can be used in most guar or guar derivative based fracturing fluids, and polymer fracturing fluids.
Technical & Engineering Information
JKN-GB-HT is a particulate material with specific size produced by coating (encapsulating) a peroxide breaker with a water-resistant barrier. If it is not encapsulated, the breaker will quickly reduce the fluid viscosity. The encapsulation of the breaker greatly reduces the contact between the fracturing fluid and the breaker, without coating, would reduce the fluid viscosity.
JKN-GB-HT cannot leak off and be lost to the formation, it remains in the fracture where it is needed to degrade polymers. After fracturing treatment, the release of the breaker occurs as the reservoir temperature increases and the fracture closes. Because the breaker chemical is released slowly from JKN-GB-HT, it is recommended to shut-in at least 12 hours, especially for wells with bottomhole static temperature less than 200℉ (93℃). For wells with bottomhole static temperature less than 200℉ (93℃) and turn-around times less than 12 hours, a tail-in of breaker SL-BR05 is recommended to provide a more rapid, near-wellbore breaker. There are no stressful closure requirements for use of this breaker system. The effective working temperature for JKN-GB-HT is in the range of 180-270℉ (82 to 132℃).
JKN-GB-HT can be used in most guar gum and polymer based fracturing fluid systems. It is compatible with most additives used in these systems, except reducing agents or strong oxidizing agents. Care should be taken to avoid the use of reduced additives and stronger breakers together with JKN-GB-HT.
